Major Release: Software distribution for Java™-based Software

As of August 1, 2007, we present the long-anticipated version 1.4. The waiting was worth it: a set of new features have been integrated. The surely largest innovation is the support for Mac OS X based systems. With the new release it is now possible to provide installers for Java applications on Mac OS X starting from version 10.4. The applications are delivered as universal binaries, so your software can be deployed both on Power PC and Intel-based systems.

JInstaller™ Creator

• Full Apple Mac OS X support / build Mac OS X application bundles (10.4 and greater)
• Support for Java Invocation API executables on Windows
• Improved Look&Feel and usability for Creator UI
• Improved multi-user support
• Added uninstaller customization through addPreUninstallCommand and addPostUninstallCommand in InstallerInterface
• Renaming and removal of creator projects via user interface
• Support "application ID" to identify installed applications on target computers
• Support application-based persistent preferences for userdefined installer pages
• Selectively enable/disable link definitions in a creator project.
• Improved output panel, execute and save created installer files directly from the Creator UI
• Create launch actions for "Done" page for selected operating systems only.
• Changed host license for JInstaller products to be unaffected by IP address changes

• Support for parent class loaders, files, URLs and input streams
• Support URL getResource() method
• Multi-thread support
• Improved garbage-collection for encrypted resources
• Set context class loader in AppLoader class for better reflection libraries support
